The Embrace Life Children’s Foundation is about putting smiles
on the faces of sick or disabled children and making their day a little
brighter. The non-profit organization was founded after the Koos
family suffered the loss of their two years old son Christian, due to
a rare neurological disease known as Leukodystrophy.
ELCF works with several Florida hospitals and nursing homes for children, providing pediatric patients with whatever help they need to make their day brighter. ELCF works closely with the Child Life Advocates and staff at Chris Evert Children’s Hospital, Miami Children’s Hospital, Joe Dimaggio’s Children’s Hospital, Coral Springs Medical Center, Broward Children’s Center, Boca Community Hospital and many more.
ELCF has given many monetary donations to families in need, as well as provide and grant wishes for toys (video games, CD players, DVD players, etc.) and medical equipment. We also plan field trips to local events (Harlem Globetrotters, Disney’s High School Musical, Baltimore Orioles, Florida Panthers, Miami Hurricanes and many more) for patients and their families to escape the pressures of being chronically ill. ELCF also provides some special needs children with the opportunity of a lifetime. By providing grants children can attend therapy at Island Dolphin Care. This unique experience allows the children to work one on one with dolphins and therapists.
Embrace Life Children’s Foundation also is eager to help and assist Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. The caring and kind staff is making great strides in finding a cure for some of the debilitating rare neurological diseases. It is an honor to help fund their research.
Our goal here at ELCF is to offer a little faith, hope, love and encouragement to all children battling illness. Regardless of race, religion, or condition, we are there to help all. Our staff is comprised of local community supporters that have expressed a sincere desire to give all they can to these children. Everyone becomes a part of the ELCF family.
